Whats New? Sunday edition!

Good Morning OFF'ers!  Had to get up to feed the dogs and let them out.  So, what's new?

not a lot , getting my shoes on to go take my morning walk. Am increasing it further each day, had gotten out of the habit of walking but we rented our rental to a fellow surgery patient and he needs to walk so we are encouraging each other ...
today will be going to a friends house to help her lay out some flowers and come up with a design for her yard.
I wish i could do this for money , i might make pretty good at it lol i think it wouldnt be a lot of fun if i did tho. dont know might be more fun.
I have about a hundred iris that i need to get into the ground soon , this lady gave them to me said they are all purple and white so going to plant them all together and make a statement somewhere .
tomorrow  we are laying out our big garden we are going to get started and hopefully will have it ready to plant fall crops in it. ...

Jan, if you were closer I would certainly pay you to help me with my yard. After moving here I found none of the plants that I was familiar with in CA would grow here....well, most of them. But, who am I kidding?  I've NEVER had a green thumb and  the best I did in San Diego was lots of ground cover and 6 rose bushes  LOL.  So,....if you're ever in need of a road trip and a refrence for your landscaping business, come on down!

Didn't get in until midnight from the Miss AR pageant. More in another post about that.  The three of us were supposed to stop on the way to get some dinner and there was some misscommunication and we thought each of the other wasn't hungry so no dinner. Luckily I had a protein bar in my purse and they had a concession stand. Who would ever guess they'd sell hot dogs and nachos at a beauty pageant? Quite an evening, I'll tell you.

Not much going on today. Grocery store where I'll buy 20 things and spend $100, then dinner with the DS and DIL.  Keeping my prayers and positive thoughts going for Aimee's N. Sure hope everything come out fine there.

annette...my sister is the same way and so is my mother...trying to ask questions about WLS and the eating....lol they are never going to give up the foods that are bad for them!!!

jan you and your flowers are amazing!!! i only have my 4 rose bushes here and so far only 3 of them are coming back again....when we get our own place i will have many flowers in my yard....i sure do miss seeing them all in bloom!!

debbie...do you have any tips on how to make bandit be quiet while i am gone away?? he carries on so much i am afraid we will lose our happy home soon if he doesn't stop!!! i can't take him with me all the time because its to hot to leave him in the car while iget my shopping done!!!!

well yesterday we went to the festival and had a blast!!!! we went on one ride and it was fun!!! the other adult rides went upside down and i am not into those at all!!!!! rick won a cute bee for me and also a super cute teddy bear that has on a purple hat and is holding a purple heart that says be mine on it...i love it!!!! he also won a superman blowup doll...he loves superman...lol we also did some gambling and he won a couple bucks...yippeee lol we had a deep fried cheese stick i never had one of those...its like a corn dog only has mozzerella cheese in it...it was ok but i don't like the breading so i tossed that...jerry (rick's step dad) watched bandit for me while we were gone...when we came home we found bandit in the crate in the garage....lol bet he was more than "grandpa" could handle in a new envirment...lmao   before we went to the festival rick was cutting the grass using the tractor...he told me he wanted to see me on it...ooooooooooook...so i got on it and he showed me how it worked...yippeeeeee that was fun!!!!!!!! he kept putting it another speed each time i came around by him...soon i was really going fast....it was great fun!!! i think he liked it because it made my boobs (what i have left of them) bounce all over...lmao also went to get ricks hair cut...OMG he had it all cut off!!! he calls it his NASCAR haircut...lol he said he gets it cut once a year and this is how it gets cut....so hopefully by labor day it will be back to almost normal for how i like it!!!!

the weather here is hot and muggy and it rained this morning before i took bandit out...talk about muggy omg!!!!!! and the dam mosquitos are out in numbers!!!!! i hate bugs...lol  not sure what is planned for today...hope its staying inside because of the bugs....rick wants to sleep late and thats ok with me....i wanted to sleep in also but nope bandit had to go out so here i am wide awake and listening to rick snore...and bandit is on the couch sleeping like a litte angel...sighs....

well guess i will get going here and go do a word search to keep quiet...OMG rick just scared the heck out of me!!!!!!!!! didn't hear him come up behind me and he grabbed me and i screamed....he lol at that..he loves scaring me all the time...LOL

I moved most of my stuff to the new house yesterday.... worked from 5:30am to a little after 7pm, and now I am trying to figure out how to drink my coffee since the cup is too heavy to lift

I still have the trailer, so I guess I still have to work today at moving... bleeech...

The good news is that the new house is nice... so much bigger that what we are in now... the laundry room is almost as big as our den now! ... but the shop is what I love... I got all my woodworking machinery moved over there, and it still looks pretty empty!

OK.. gonna go find a straw to drink my coffee.... this cup feels like it made of lead!

Good morning Debbie and all,

This has been such a busy week full of family gatherings. My southern clan has gone home, the house guest is back in California, Tom and I are back to the daily routine. Kind of ... we are going to the Renaissance Festival in a few minutes.  

Although I enjoyed her company, Sue (the other grandma) was "in my plate" constantly. Her comments of "you are so LUCKY to have WLS and take off the weight" started to bug me no end. She has the misconception that I can eat anything and the weight has slid off magically.

At first I tried to explain the process to her. She wasn't hearing the words so I gave up.

Sue tried to eat exactly as I eat, copied my eating as she asked questions. When I was at work she ATE a ton of food, even snuck out of bed after we retired for the night to eat more. That brought back memories of my old eating habits and I sure understand her struggle.

It gets frustrating when people think that WLS cures obesity with no effort. I am not cured at all and this will be hard work for the rest of my life.

I used to think there was a thin person hiding in my fat body and trying to get out. Now, I know there is a fat person in there, always trying to get out.

Hi Annette, and all,
I hear you on Sue!!!! I was the same way. Yes there is a skinny person within that fat body but when you loose the weight there is a fat person there too. Sue has to be ready to loose. She has to hit rock bottom then she will do something for herself. She has to be ready and she isnt. She thinks she is by asking you questions and such to make you think she is. But deep down she isnt. My daughter is the same way.
Have fun at the Rennasaunce Fesitval. There is one in Denver area every year. We went a few times.
Yesterday we went to a beach town. Very touristy. But what the heck it was something to do.
I have to work today open and close. I hope we are busy.
Well time to put my work facade on and get ready for my day.

I am up but not really awake. I am finally starting to  run out of steam and anxious to go back home. I have been out of my routine for over a week now. Time to go home and get myself together again. Looks like I will be going down to Iowa on Thursday for a long weekend. I need a few days at home alone first.

I hope Aime has gotten her rest and N is doing well. I am concerned for all of them.

I will be checking in again later to catch up on how everyone is doing.

I need to head to the shower and get ready for a new day.

morning deb and OFF! i was up at 245 for a bit- coulda started the thread but just felt someone else should! glad that you did! finally at 830 roxie deserved to go out! and it was pouring rain so it was a quick peepee trip for her! she is snuggled behind me in the desk chair right now- she loves it there but it plays havoc with my back...michael says i spoil her....hmmmmmmm...i think enable is a better word!!!!

yesterday; the gal that wants to buy Doc was sposed to come-again--this is getting very old and very frustrating! i know money is tight- if she doesn't want to buy him she should say so- she lives a few hours south of us and she had called a few days ago to say that she had coverage for her store and even had rented a car- well i am thinking she is a great smoke blower......we clean the cage and the house and wait and she doesn't show--anyhow-then others respond to the ad and want him basically for free...well i don't think so!

my daughter and her guy came out yesterday for about 5 hours- brought my grand amber - robyn and amber and i headed to walmart for some stuff and we ended up doing hair- we each highlite dthe others and it looks pretty good! we had chicken and corn for dinner and strawberries for dessert before they went home- made plans for them to come up for a working weekend in 3 weeks- jamie will help michael lay carpet and move some heavy stuff out --small jobs toward getting the house listed--of course, robyn would like us to move back to lorain county (where all my kids and grands live) but michael is holding out for hawaii--which ain't gonna happen at this juncture! i am so torn about teh whole thing and am trying to stay motivated toward a positive end....

after the kids left, we watched "you can't take it with you" last nite- frank capra's movie with jimmie stewart- oh it was cute!

jan; i would love to have you do my yard!!! but michael is crapping  abou****ering my flowers now-i have two lil beds each about 2-3 ft wide and 16 ft long in front of our fencing and he is griping--i dunno how he thought they would just "survive" if we didn'****er! i think he just needs something to crab about! it only takes a few extra minutes when he is out there watering his 5 hibiscus and the spider plant and the two bouganvilleas.....his main gripe is the annuals ...i don't understand!!!!!!well i do--i wanted the flowers and he waters them but i don't do it right according to him ( i don't do anything right why should i start with flowers????) and then he has nothing to do so i don't do it--makes sense to me!

well- i have absolutely no specific direction for today and probly should formulate a plan so it is not entirely wasted.....mark..you're putting me to shame cuz i have done about nothing toward moving in the last week! and i keep thinking downsize while you are expanding!!!!

think i'll go look at the want ads.....

Good Morning....I understand what you are saying Annette, we really did have bad habits when we were fat.....I know when I got my coffee this morning at the local Stop and Shop at 6:45 am.....I noticed an obese woman, dressed in a nice outfit, with a giant sized Pepsi [regular] and two doughnuts and a candy bar  checking out in front of me.....I felt so sorry for her, knowing I had been there....afraid of hunger....feeling the need for quick energy to move my fat body around sometimes......I am just so very very thankful.....I don't even think of that kind of behavior anymore. I am content with my coffee and I don't worry about food anymore.

I don't even get on the scales anymore, I use my clothes as a guide.....if something is a little tight, I really back off and work out more for a few days and it rights itself.....I know I could be thinner for sure, but I don't think my body wants to be as I seem to settle down at one weight....and I fluctuate 5-7 pounds....depending on what I eat. I try to wear a tight in the waist pants when I feel fat....to remind me not to snack too much......as you all know we tend to graze with our pouches.

Well, it is a beautiful day in Madison, and I need to jump in the shower and get ready for church and then I have an open house.....and then a cookout at Kathleen's house.
